Specs: Windows 7
my Seagate goflex 500GB external hard drive stopped working a while back because of unsafe removal and it turned into a raw HDD, i recovered my data from it with recover my files and then i reformatted it.
i copied the recovered data onto it and then when i tried to copy it back on my computer it crashed every time. i tried to recover by many data recovery softwares and they too would crash. it tried to copy with teracopy and it said it couldn't due to io errors. so is there a way to recover my data

Too late now but you could have repaired the RAW partition.

Is the external formatted using FAT32? FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit. If you have files larger than that you may generate a CRC error.

Try copying the files in smaller increments.

some of the folders have small rar increments each is about 50MB
it copies the first one then stops halfway at the second. the hard drive has 2 partitions ntfs and fat32 and they both give the same problem. should i format and try to get the data back by using one of the softwares that can recover from accidental formats .

Try using a tool called recuva on the drive to see if the files are salvagable. Sounds like they may be corrupted. Get recuva at to link below.

I am not sure what you mean "some of the folders have small rar increments each is about 50MB". rar is a type of file compression. Is that what you mean?
