recover BIOS admin password on Acer

I have an Acer TravelMate 240 series laptop.
I have forgotten my BIOS admin password, user password is ok. problem is I can enter setup but cannot configure the machine (I had earlier disabled USB support). It is Phoenix BIOS and I am desperately seeking help.

fine the bios clear jumper on the main board and short it. Put it back to normal. Your bios is now clear and you can enter it to reconfigure the passwords/settings.
Instead of opening it up, use a file called KILLCMOS...it will do the same thing as using the ClearCMOS jumper.

Just a warning...your Antivirus program may detect it as a virus...it's not a virus & is perfectly safe to use. It will reset everything to the defaults & will also clear any BIOS password...
