Hello, A co-worker told me today that she cannot record a DVD to her VCR. She said there are lines in the picture when playing back the tape even though no lines are seen on the TV while recording. She connects here computer thru the VCR to the TV to watch DVD's. Has anyone ever heard of this? Thanks J.

It's called copy protection. Nothing surprising. Just an added caution, Most DVD (Disney is the most notorious) will not even work properly with this kind of setting, since its imbedded copy protection will kick in and will prevent the VCR from decoding the signal. The picture will be an alternating bright and blurred and you will have to use and independent RF modulator to watch these DVD movies.
