Specs: Windows Vista

Which flash drive would be recommended for carrying my medical record, living will and power of attorney with me on my person and/or in the vehicle?
Would it be recommended to be water, fire and static proof ?

Flash drives are not reliable. If it's just to transfer the documents from one PC to another, that's fine, but it should not be used for long term storage. Make sure you have several backups - HDD, CD, DVD, etc.

As riider states, reliability of flash drives are comparatively low compared to other forms of media. If you're going to store something that important, I'd suggest multiple copies of high-quality optical media and storing them in a fireproof safe and other locations so if one copy fails, the other(s) can be retrieved quickly. Remember, optical media storage ideally should be 62-70 degrees F. and 35-50% relative humidity.

Just be sure you have your heart attack when you are at
home with the safe open, so the people who need your
records will be able to find them.
