reboot hang

CPU/Ram: Amd XP3000 420fsb w/512pc

ive got a freinds comp and thought it might be a windows problem. it has win xp pc is a hp pavillion 7905. sometimes it just hangs on reboot.

any ideas would be great
ive reset cmos to default also

If your computer is hanging on reboot but you can still get into windows:

Check your start up items.

go to start run type in msconfig.exe

Check selective start up, then go to the start up tab and disable all/apply.

Reboot a few times and see if it goes away.

Then you will have to filter through the start ups and enable only the ones you really need.

Most of them are not needed.
