I have a Realtek RTL 8139/810 x Fam Nic PCI Fast Earthlink installed on this new computer but I have Dial Up with a modem, I keep getting this error that the Realtek is not connected and not working, can I disable it? will it cause anyproblems or any slower dial up because of it? I do not see a pci slot or plug in to take off computer it looks like a little box component so don't know if I should disconnect physically or just disable.

Just double click on the device in device manager and disable in this profile. The only reason to remove completely would be to free up resources. If that NIC is onboard then you can disable it in the BIOS.

The Realtek adapter is used for an Ethernet (LAN) connection. It is not used for connecting with a dialup modem.
