really weird boot issue please help

Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
A few days ago my computer when i rebooted it would just hang on a black screen with no messages. I could turn on the computer and then boot again fine. Then it wouldn't boot at all, just turn on and sit there so i thought it was a power supply issue (maybe not getting enough power) and got a new power supply and installed it. Everything worked great for a day and then i went to turn it back on and it sits at a black screen again. I unplugged the computer, took the side of the case off, unplugged the power connectors from the board and back in (thinking maybe they were loose) and then it boots great. This morning i try to boot and once again the black screen. So i plug in the old power supply and then it boots with that.

So basically if i unplug the power supply from the board it works great one time but if i try to restart or turn back on from a powered off state then i get nothing.

I have checked bios settings and all connections. i dont have any other pci cards installed. Only one time were there any extra beeps, when i restarted one time i had continuous beeping, but i have never heard that ever again and like i stated above i have been able to get windows to load again by unplugging and replugging in the power supply to the mother board.

Any help would be appreciated.

It is a cold boot issue. I guess you could play with it but I will tell you the best way to fix it.

Buy a power strip. Put all your wall warts and computer stuff on it. When you finish your work, you can do a shutdown and then turn off all the power on the strip.
You may save maybe 24 watts but that would be 24 watts every hour so it could add up to savings.

Thanks. I tried like with mixed results. It ended up being a bad memory stick, hopefully, but it never failed any tests or gave any errror beeps on boot until that was the only stick in there. Weird.

Thanks for your time
