Hi there Guys an Gals...
right so heres my problem...one morning i wake up to find
that there is no power to my computer, so i change the
fuse to my plug, still not working, changed the power
cable and tried at different plug point, still not
working?

Would i be right in guessing that the answer is the
power supply unit located on the inside of the machine
and if so is this fairly easy to replace? oh and how would you go about this?

Thankyou all in advance...

Dubster

Very possible you have made a correct diagnosis. Open the computer first and check all connections to make sure something did not just come loose. Also check to see if there is a fuse in the PSU. Make sure to unplug first! If you do change the PSU, get another that is big enough for some possible future upgrades if you think that may be something you would do. I would go minimum 350 watts if you may upgrade later. Get a PSU that is Intel ready (they work for AMD, too). Should be very simple to change, unless you are running a Dell, HP, or Compaq. Those may require purchasing a PSU from the company because they use special connectors. Otherwise, it is a matter of unplugging old and plugging in the new. Happy New Year.

You could, as long as the connectors are proper, and the wattage is sufficient for you needs. Just compare wiring harnesses and check the label. Cheers.
