Comment: I am currently running XP on my Master HD and I have installed a slave HD. Is it possible to install XP on the slave so I can then remove it and use it on another machine as its OS. Also if it is possible, can I then copy over files from the master HD to the slave? Thanks to anyone out there.

Reply: (edit)No, it wont work. XP is one installation, one computer. AS soon as you try to boot on the other computer, XP will recognise the change of hardware and refuse to boot. You can copy files from the master to the slave, but don't expect the slave to boot in anything but the computer it was installed in. Stuart

Reply: (edit)ghost your master onto the slave drive, put slave now configured as master into 2nd computer. go into safemode, remove all board drivers from original computer, restart in normal mode & xp will load the needed board drivers. a friend does that all the time of having a ghosted drive ghost everything to new drive, saves a lot of time david
