please help my computer shuts down randomly for no aparent reason , I noticed the cpu fan was out so I replaced it but found there was no power to the mother board plug so I moved to diferent spot on the board and it cooled well . there is no telling how long the fan was out for could I have damaged the cpu from overheating ?I replaced the mother board battery and the harddrive is knew what can I do .

I have had this problem before. Todaly unscreww and remove ur MB. Find any loose screws and remove them from the case. Now, even if it looks like the MB will mont ok w/o using all screew holes, use them all. The randem shuting down is caused by a loose screw shortage or you MB slightly warping because it is not mounted properly. Use all MB holes even if you have to buy more screws.
As for overheating ur system, If it runs then ur processor is mostlikly ok...but dont due it again! I have herd of a procesor runnign at 215C w/o fring although dont try it!
