Comment: I need some help, lately my computer has just been randomly restarting and I have no idea why. I don't have to be doing anything specific for it to restart, it does it all the time. I know its not an overheating problem, but i think it could have something to do with my ram. I have 1 gig of ocz ram. I had 1 stick when i got my comp and i got another stick about 2 months ago. The only problems I had when i got the 2nd stick was that i had to turn up the timings to get them to work together. Does anyone know if this is the problem or know what else could be causing the restarts?

Reply: (edit)If it's already running unstably then messing around with the voltages is about the last thing you want to do. If they are identical sticks - which they probably aren't if you bought them at different times - (many manufacturers switch their source of chips with each batch produced) then you shouldn't have had to adjust the timings in the first place unless you were already heavily overclocking. As rb said, remove one stick & see if the problem persists. Try running the system with BIOS set to defaults & see if that cures it. Another source of problems is often a failing power supply - if it's a cheap unbranded one then I'd replace it anyway before it blows completely.
