To have XP display the error message instead of rebooting:

1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.
5. Click OK, and then click OK.

Look HERE
Seems you may have faulty ram/vram or maybe it's your antivirus
Test the ram using MEMTEST86

If you are prepared for a complete reinstal the I recommend doing so and this time during the instal have the bare minimum of devices attached. CPU, 1 stick ram cdrom, harddrive and graphics. Once you get it installed and stable then try adding extra things like more ram.
It is entirely possible that with faulty ram having been in place for some time your system has become corrupt.
