OS: winxp sp2
CPU/Ram: athlon xp 2800 768

i'm getting random restarts whenever i play this game called counter strike. does anyone got any advice for trouble shooting this? like what can cause a random restart. i've already tested my video card in my buddys system and it works fine. any advice would be great. thanks

If you are getting it when you play the game you might wanna check your power supply to see if it is sufficient if you have already checked out your GPU

To have XP display the error message instead of rebooting:

1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.
5. Click OK, and then click OK.

thanks for the advice. turns out it was a bad memory stick. took it out and everythings running smoothly. thanks again
