Comment: I have an Asus CUV4X-C motherboard. Recently I added a Maxtor 80 GB drive. For the first time, my system was doing well, all my drives were detected. Besides the Maxtor, the system has a Seagate 40 GB drive, Lite-On CD-RW, & Pioneer DVD-ROM. All of them were detected. But after a while, the system started to freeze. Then when I restart, the system managed to enter Windows, but it freezed again. For the second time I restart, Windows couldn't detect DVD-ROM and CD-RW. The rest of my drives(Maxtor and Seagate) were detected. Also the system doesn't freeze again. Plz help. Is it because of inadequate PSU or the motherboard couldn't handle too many drives?? I have 350W PSU. Thnx

Reply: (edit)Hi Wei, Seems unlikely it's caused by too many drives or low power. What did you use to partition and format the 80GB? M2

Reply: (edit)If the above doesn't help, disconnect one of the optical drives at a time and try it. A defective drive can keep the other drive on the cable from working. It can also stop the motherboard from working.
