Random Freezing/Shutdown Problem

September 26, 2010 at 05:20:35
Specs: Windows 7, AMD Athlon II x2 3.0 / 8 gigs of DDR2 800mhz
After I upgraded my motherboard to a GA-MA785GM-US2H I plugged all the old hardware in and no problems with the installation. I decided to try out my little "beast" and run some games! I ran Modern Warfare 2, Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, etc... and all have the same problem. Every 1-5 minutes a random shutdown or freeze that causes me to restart my computer happens. Never happened with old mobo. I've ran tests and checked temps and all normal. I took my graphics card out of my computer to run on the onboard and the problem is non-existent... I was thinking incompatibility or something of the sort. Here are some specs to give you a thought of what I'm working with.

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H
Nvidia Geforce GTX 275 1792 MB SC 648/1458/1134
AMD Athlon II x2 250 3.0
4 x 2 GB DDR2 800 mhz Kingston RAM
Antec Truepower Quattro 1000w Power Supply
