Alright well, here's my problem: I have this computer and it randomly freezes, no error messages or anything, just becomes completely unresponsive to any input. The situations in which this freezing occurs are as follows:
Booting Windows XP
Doing stuff in Windows XP
Loading Redhat Linux 7.2 Installer
Formatting harddrive during Redhat Linux 7.2 InstalationBut only sometimes does it freeze while doing these things (except the formatting, if it ever gets to that it'll always freeze.)
I've tried the following:
Updating all drivers (windows xp)
Attempting to install linux
Updating BIOS
Changing Harddrives
Working with no extra hardware (sound card/NIC/CD-ROM/FDD)
Changing video cards
Changing Floppy Drives
Changning Power Supply
Changing Floppy and Harddrive Cables
Changing RAM
Runing full RAM test during POST (finds no errors)
Runing full chkdsk with bad sector checking for all disks. So i've come to the conclusion that there most be something wrong with either my motherboard or cpu, but is there anything that could be wrong with those components that would cause random freezeing? Any ideas are welcome.
Specs:
Western Digital 9.8 gB harddrive (runs in UDMA 33).
Quantum Fireball 3.2 gB harddrive (came with an old PB computer) runs in some PIO mode, not sure which.
224 mB of misc brand PC100 SDRAM. (It still doesn't work with 128 mB Kingston RAM, which i know is error free)
Athlon K6 333 mHZ CPU
Some soundcard...
Some TNT2 M64 AGP video card
Some Netgear NIC
EpoX EP-MVP3C mainboard
some atx powersupply (that is more than powerfull enough)
Well i'm probably missing a whole lot of info, so tell me if you need more, i'll check back on this in a bit.

Ive had computers freeze up due to heat. Have you installed a case fan? Once I even had my CPU fan hooked up to fan 2 on Motherboard which made it turn off every now and again and freeze up when it did. Also your very close to the minimum specs XP needs to operate but Ive ran it good on a 350 mhz system....

No it's not heat, i have warnings and shutdowns setup in the BIOS.
As for XP it CAN run (just freezes), but also Redhat Linux 7.2, wont, which i do meet and surpass the system requirements for.

Probably is Processor or motherboard and since you changed everything else why not get a new one. You can waste a lot of time fixing old junk computers...
