random freezeing, help!

well i built my first desktop and was rather proud but i am still not done yet i guess. i am having troubles with freezing, it happens randomly anywhere from the bios screen to the very end of the windows loading screen. if i can get to windows then it never freezes again until the next time i turn it back on. i tried pulling out my ram and putting it back in and even swapped it out with same ram from my buddies comp which worked just fine but i still encountered the random freezing in that time frame. i could assume its mobo related but i personally have no idea and would rather not spend money in excess if its not the problem.

and your sure its not some of your software/drivers?
(seriously messed up BIOS driver or grapic-driver or something like that?)

Enter the BIOS screens and verify the time, date, etc. Load Optimized Defaults. Then verify all drives to auto,ACPI Enabled, Resources controlled by (Auto).
