Random crashes

OS: Win2k sp4
CPU/Ram: 2.8 p4/ 2 gb (512 x4)

I recently started getting these random crashes. The screen flickers black, and then restarts. Sometimes when it restarts, nothing shows up on the monitor. If I wait a few minutes, and try turning it on again, the computer will run fine. Other times, it will say bad bios checksum error.

I've tried flashing the bios, and it didn't help. I can't determine what is causing these crashes.

Anyone have any ideas??

My computer specs:
Northwood Pentium 4 2.8 ghz
Asus p4p800 se, currently at the newest bios
2 gbs of geil ram (512x4)
nvidia 6800 gs 256 mb
60 gb IBM hard drive
80 gb Maxtor hard drive
300 gb Seagate SATA hard drive.
NEC dvd/cd burner
Sony cd burner

2.8c 800mhz fsb
1 gb 512x2 geil dual channel
asus p4p800 se
60 gb ibm 7200 rpm
80 gb maxtor 7200
thermaltake va3000 tsunami
sapphire 9800 pro 128mb

I'm staying well under 45 celcius, and it's still crashing.
