Hey all

I currently have 512mb of Corsair XMS PC2700 (2x256mb)and wanted to upgrade to 1gb, I was thinking is it ok to buy a different make?

I heard its better to go for the same speed so I will go for another PC2700, but just not sure if I can budget for Corsair XMS again so was thinking if another make was ok, is it ok to mix?

Thanks
Thewake
P.S anyone know any good sites to buy RAM? (that will ship to UK)

Thewake,

It's better to go with the same brand, same speed (PC2700 in this case), same model, etc.

But I've been told that usually mixing different brands is OK. Still, I just wouldn't.

If I were you I'd buy a 512MB stick of Corsair XMS PC2700.

That'd be 256, 256, 512. Shouldn't be any conflict.
