Hi, im running windows xp sp2 Home.

My computer seems to run slow now and then. i also do the occasional gaming. Right now i have 512mb ram. i looked online and saw another 512mb ram cheap.

Here are my system specs:

Intel pentium 4 2.93Ghz
512mb DDR Ram
160gb HDD
ATI Radeon 9600XT (256mb,400mhz,128bit)

Is it worth a upgrade now to 1gb and will it improve general windows performance and gaming?

Thanks for your help.

Definitely, definitely. A GPU upgrade wouldn't hurt either.

But you should always use matched memory. Same manufacturer, etc.
