Hi
If the ram is PC2700, does that mean that it runs at 333mhz? and is it posible to have 2 sticks of ram in your machine, one at 333mhz and the other at 266mhz. in other words can you mix the MHZ ? P.S. Im talking about DDR type RAM

if you have pc2100 and pc2700 mixing..then most likely your pc2700 will run at pc2100 speed its weather running at 333mhz or not depends on your fsb

Mixed RAM will definitely all run at the speed of the slowest module.

We've had this discussion before & the answers above aren't totally correct. If you install PC2100 with PC2700 & the memory setting in the BIOS is set to AUTO, it will run both modules at the slower speed. However, you may be able to run them at the higher speed by changing the memory settings manually. If the PC2100 can handle the higher speed, they'll both run a PC2700.

Summary: Ram speeds are 100/133/166/266/333 right now. You should match your ram to the cpu and fsb. For example if you have a cpu and motherboard that only support 100mhz front side bus then using 333mhz mem...
