What does it mean when the specs for RAM say 128x4 or 32x8, or something like that?

See this site for an example.

128MB chip times 4 chips on the stick for a total of 512MB, extremely high density. If you are thinking of buying memory from this site I would suggest you look further. If you notice you first example isn't compatible with 2 of 3 current chipsets. No indication of lifetime warranty or of which memory chips onboard. In short, nothing to attract someone to this site. If you are in the market for RAM I suggest you post here for suggestions. Post details of the system the memory will be used in.

Alright, sounds good. I will be building a new computer in the middle of August, and I hope to get an AMD 64 3000 or better, with 1GB of good RAM (highest speed that motherboard can support). I will post then.

Cheers!
