Hello
I'm trying to upgrade the ram in an old pc. The motherboard to the pc is a Foxconn P4m800p7mb-rs2h which takes DDR2 memory. I purchesed some unbranded value 1GB PC2-5300 RAM which I though would be fine but the BIOS is only seeing 512mb so I thought maybe the RAM isn't compatible so I ran the Crucial scanner which then I bought what it recommended (Part CT12864AA667 CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667). So I installed the Crucial RAM and the computer does not reconise the memory at all in any slot just get long bleeps. I cleared the CMOS and tried the Crucial memory again but still wouldn't read it so I installed the value ram in slot 1 and Crucial ram in slot 2 and cleared the CMOS and the BIOS reconised both sticks but at half a gig each.
So has anyone got any advice they can give? The pc doesn't read the Crucial ram at all when installed on its own and after I keep clearing the CMOS I can get it to read both sticks but only 512mb each. I checked both sticks in another computer and both came up as 1GB so the sticks are fine and Iv'e ran cpuz which gives the correct sizes of 1GB a stick.
