hello, i've had a lot of ram problems for my mobo in the past. I use the A7V333 (VIA KT333 chipset) mobo and i wasn't able to get the ram chip to fit into the slot. I am 100% possible i had the correct ram when i first purchased it at crucial.com but wasn't able to fit it into the mobo. I pushed down really hard and it was never able to go in. And yes, i was putting it in correctly. there is only one way you can put ram in. Since i wasn't able to fit it i had to RMA the ram. I manage to get a full refund, crucial.com is great.

I am now in a spot where 256mb is just not enough, the games coming out today just require a ton of ram. i just hate having to lower graphic settings all because i don't got enough ram. i was hoping someone here can help me pick the correct ram, (even tho i'm sure i picked it correctly at crucial) perhaps someone can point me to a site that has the ram chip that will work (and fit)with my mobo. i'd greatly appreciate it. i'd go with crucial but i don't wanna go through what i went through before. thx for the help.

I am 99% possible (or positive as most people say) that if you had the correct RAM for your motherboard then it should have fit into the slot. When I upgraded from 128 Mb to 256 Mb, I had to press really hard to get the chip to latch into place, but it did go. I would say that you either:

A. have the wrong RAM
B. are installing it wrong

If you are 100% possible/positive that neither of these is the case, then you will either have to try a different brand of RAM or get a new motherboard. Only other thing I can think of would be take a pocket knife and shave a little bit of the circuit board off the RAM chip on the sides where it slides into the connector and also on the sides up by the top where it snaps into place. Sometimes the edges of those circuit boards aren't totally perfect. Best of luck.

hey lloyd, (yea i was meant to say Postive, big typeo. sorry bout that.) i really doubt i can get the wrong ram. if you ever browsed or bought from crucial. its impossible to get the wrong ram if you know your model and brand name of your mobo. which in my case is the Asus A7V333. Installing it wrong might be a possible thing, but really... ram can only be installed in one way. i had both clips all the way down on the slot i was putting it in. i put the ram into the mobo and pressed down REAL hard (on crucial faq they say 20 pounds of pressure. lol yea right :p) i couldn't do it any harder or else i was gonna snap my mobo in two. i was pressing down so hard my mobo was actually bending. I don't suppose you (or anyone else) can point me to a great ram site i can order from? thx.
