Hey,
I just installed a new stick of RAM into my computer... When I do, the computer hangs at the original boot up screen... In my case, the HP screen... Then I take it out and it works again??? Is my new RAM faulty???

Either faulty or not compatible with your motherboard. Check at the company website for what is compatible with your model number if you're not sure.

Hey I have an ASUS TX97 MB Rev1.21 with Intel ChipSet. I have just installed (2) Kingston Technologies KV-PC133/128MB SDRAM DIMM Chips into the MB however they are showing in the POST as 133MB Ram and in System Properties as 128MB Ram, they should be showing up as 256MB Ram. What's gone wrong? I have tested both Chips independantly in each of the 3 available slots (Surely both chips wouldn't be defective). Could it be because the RAM I bought is PC-133 instead of PC-100? That shoudn't have an impact because Clock Speed on RAM is backwards compatible. Does anybody have an idea here? I could use some help.

Hey there,
After my post I went to www.kingston.com/installvalueram which is the troubleshooting web-site for the RAM I purchased and found the following information regarding my post question;
Please Note: If only a portion of the Kingston PC133 memory is recognized, your system may be incompatible with this particular memory technology. Your computer may have an older chipset that is unable to read the PC133 module properly. The PC133 module uses memory chips that have a density of 256mbits per chip. Some older computer systems are only equipped to read up to 128mbits per chip.
The most common manifestation of this problem is when the computer only recognizes one half of the new memory. If you encounter this problem you will need to return the memory to the place of purchase for a refund or an exchange.
