this was my first time installing memory. after consulting you guys a few days ago i found out that applying some power on the ram while inserting would not hurt it. but when it came to application i had to use all my power to lock it completely in. after that the computer didn't boot. it didn't even beep. so i removed the new ram and left the old one only. and the computer booted fine. do you think i damaged the ram or the dimm slot? how can i understand that the dimm slot is ok?
