The memory controller inside Phenom 955 BE support up to DDR3 1333 that means faster memory like DDR3 1600 will be underclocked to run at mem controller supported speed which is DDR3 1333.
DDR (double data rate) the actual frequency is obtain by dividing by 2
1333Mhz / 2 = 666.5Mhz which is the value reported by speecy.
DDR3 1600 can only be achieved thru overclocking.

So u mean to say my RAM is working fine?
is there any need 2 overclock to 1600?
and is the corsair CX600 a good unit? Can it run high end devices?

Yes there's no frequency problem with your RAM. The problem is u are not running dual channel.
Open the side pannel of your computer (remove the power cord first) then from left to right count the memory slots. To be able to run dual channel install one stick of ram on the first slot then the other stick of ram on the third slot (my guess is u have 2 x 2GB and they are identical).
The corsair unit is fine, now u can add a high end power hungry video card. I am happy to see that u are following our advice

Two sticks of identical memory or more is required to run dual channel.
The board is fine for gaming and other tasks, just add a gaming video card like HD 7770 or HD 7750 and u will be fine.
