OS: winxp pro
CPU/Ram: P4 2.8C Ghz/ 512 maybe 10
Comment:

So, i had 512 in my system previously. I bought another 512, different speed AND different company. So, i put the new one in, and it just hung after th POST which said 1024000K OK, or a number pretty close to that. Took it out, computer runs fine now. Is there a way to get this to work? I really dont want to have to go back and return it, but i will if it must be done. What about CAS or something like that? BIOS update maybe? MBoard is ASUS P4s800-MX. About 1.5 years old.

new input as i am running tests as we speak. this new RAM, seems to be working very odd. I just left it in as the lone 512, and windows kept crashing with error messages 0x00A and 0x008E with driver win32k.sys. Now im back to the original and the system is running stable and happy. Maybe its a faulty piece?

You obviously bought RAM that was incompatible with your system. Not bad RAM, just bad purchase. Sorry.
