Hi.

i have a P4 2,0 that came with 2x 256mb (pc2100) sticks. I bought another 512 (pc2100) to make 1 gb!! I'm having sudden reboots and think this is due to the new ram!!

I think i found the problem but want to be sure!? I don't know if they (2x 256mb) are double sided or not. I mean there are on both sides 4 'black things', so a total of 8!! I thought it would only be double sided if both were 8 on each side!?

Can anybody tell me if they are single or double sided!?

mobo: Aopen AX4g Pro (only supports 2 double sided dimm)

Hi more info here

looks like your chips are quite old, 1st revision.
Aopen isnt mentioned in their list of compatible mobos but doesnt mean much.

To answer the question - double-sided means double-sided. That is, chips "little black thingies" on both sides of the memory stick.

Hi,

i don't think it's the ram! My mobo doesn't support 3 double sided ram sticks, so that's why i asked if the 2x 256mb were double sided or not...together with the new 512 it probably doesn't work right (under heavy load, like photshop)!!

I think i'm gone rip my dad's 2x 256mb (single sided) out and check if that will do the trick!? If not then i'll check the memory with memtest86!!!

thanx for the reply's...
