Hello,
My desktop is an Intel Celeron 1.7Ghz, with only 128MB RAM. Recently, it has become extra slow. At first i thought it was a virus, but i guess it cant handle all my programs and WinXP pro easily. My solution for now is to add some more RAM.
My quesitonis, what kind of RAM can i add to my motherboard? I asked around and i was instructed to see what is compatible with my motherboard and old RAM. I just wanna get a new 512RAM. Would anything work? or is it like P4 with a max of 400Mhz on a single RAM?
thnx in advance...

Sam

I really dont know what it takes since i wasnt the one to put together my computer. :S

Is there any way to know what type of motherboard i have or the type of RAM it handles. I have taken my comptuer apart, maybe i can read it somewhere of the hardware perhaps?

thnx...

128MB is too little RAM to run XP well, but since you also wrote this, "Recently, it has become extra slow", it tells me that something else is going on too. When is the last time you did a thorough scan for spyware?

thnx...i tried what u said and barely any adware... nothing that would make my system THAT slow. So im gonna upgrade RAM. I downloaded every home edition and noted that my mobo is "D845GLAD" and im using "128MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM". I even took the liberty of opening up my comp and removing the RAM chip.
Its says 128MB PC2100 but it also has "NCP DDR" written on it and "NC4660" as well another code "02A060228". I asking about it cause i wanna know what if i goto to the seller and say give me "256MB PC2100 DDR" would that be enough? Everton that that i need PC2100 256 is most popular as well...
thnx
