can i replace ddr2 pc2 5300 200pin 667mhz with ddr2 pc2 6400 800mhz in my laptop? compaq presario c765em.
Thanks
Stick with what's recommeded - DDR2-667. Your system probably has 2 x 512MB now, the max it can take is 2 x 1GB. Sell your old RAM to recoup some of the money spent on the new. Here's 2 x 1GB for $33 shipped:
Yes you can. The PC6400 memory will just downclock and run as PC5300. Socket 939 | Dual-core Opteron 185 @ 3.2GHz | 4GB | 1.0TB | Win7 x64
GeForce GTX 460 1GB | X-Fi Ti Pro | A8N32-SLI Deluxe | Antec P182
Thanks ive just bought 2gb pc5300 as it was a bit cheaper. it least i know i could tho.
