can i replace ddr2 pc2 5300 200pin 667mhz with ddr2 pc2 6400 800mhz in my laptop?

compaq presario c765em.

Stick with what's recommeded - DDR2-667. Your system probably has 2 x 512MB now, the max it can take is 2 x 1GB. Sell your old RAM to recoup some of the money spent on the new.

Yes you can. The PC6400 memory will just downclock and run as PC5300.
