Reply: (edit)DDR = Double Data Rate. A method of reading and writing to RAM at twice the speed as SDRAM = Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. SDRAM is the older type and is not used in newer motherboard. You cannot mix SDRAM and DDR ram and you cannot put a DDR module in a slot designed for SDRAM as the pin count is different. DIMM = Dual in-line memory module. Describes the physical contruction of the memory module. It means it has chips on both sides of the module. The numbers 133,266,333 and 400 MHz relates to the speed of the memory. The faster the better but your motherboard has to support the faster speed. You can use higher rated memory in a motherboard that is designed for lower rated memory but it will only work at the lower speed. ECC = Error correcting code. A method of detecting minor memory errors and correcting them. Stuart

Reply: (edit)Slight correction...they are ALL SDRAM. SDR-SDRAM (Single Data Rate) is PC66, PC100, PC133. It has 168-pins. DDR-SDRAM (Double Data Rate) is PC2100 (DDR266), PC2700 (DDR333), PC3200 (DDR400). It has 184-pins.
