ASROCK K7VT6.
My Device Manager wants a driver for the RAID Controller. I have one 80G HD set up as Master on the primary IDE. In the Bios the only thing about RAID that I could find was a "VIA SATA RAID UTILITY" I disabled it. When I uninstall the RAID controller in Device Manager it shows up as new hardware when I boot up. How do I disable it? If it can't, should I ... 1. Install the driver so Device Manager is happy. 2. Uninstall it in Device Manager and live with the red X. 3. Ignore it and live with the yellow question mark.
I am trying to eliminate conflicts which might be causing some other problems, I don't use the RAID and there should be some way to eliminate it in the BIOS or ?

I don't have an answer for you but did you read thru the manual or check the Asrock website?

There's nothing in the manual or on the CD about the RAID. The ASROCK website is a joke. No BB's or Forums and no search on their FAQ's, and they have yet to answer an email. I did not pick out this MOBo but I am stuck with it (it's a long story.) So as I wait again for a reply from ASROCK, I thought maybe someone out there could help.

Summary: To add to what Petit Jean said, if your SATA drive is SATA-2, if the mboard supports only SATA (SATA 1), some SATA mboard chipsets will still see a SATA-2 drive but only as a SATA drive and run it at...
