I am ordering a custom dell pc for someone. They want me to add a second hard drive & install a raid card so they can have a mirror copy of hard disk. My question is: If the first hard drive already has XP installed, how should i attempt to go into raid 1 configuration? Will i need to clone the first drive and then install raid controller? Or does the raid setup take care of this problem? Also, do i need to have identical drives to do this? some people have told me that it must be exactly identical, not just same size. Any help would be great!
