Raid 10 drive crashed, files corrupt until rebuild?

Specs: Windows 7
Hello, one of my 4 drives in an external RAID 10 enclosure appears to have crashed. I am still able to access my RAID however, some of the files appear to be corrupt. JPEGs are not fully rendering properly and appear to have missing Data.

Is this to be expected? Will everything return back to normal when I get a new HD and rebuild the RAID?

I'm using a Sans Digital RAID enclosure.

It's not expected. RAID 10 should continue working with one dead disk (even with two dead if it's the right one that fails second time). All you can do is replace the disk and see what happens.

But I'm guessing that you are going to have to restore those files from your backups; it's probably best to wait until the array is working properly.
