and i think the SE comes with a voucher for a free copy of Half-Life 2... so pretty much it's faster

Are you sure? The Asus 9600SE card I found is one of the cheaper cards (114.99).

The Radeon 9600SE has a core clock of 325 and memory clock of 400 whereas the pro has 400/600.
