Comment: Hi. I've a radeon 7500. I'm wondering if this card would overheat just because of the way it's builded. I've tried a few games in the past that shown some display problem. To be precise, the game keeps on running, but the color would all break up into many distinct color lines and triangles, which make it not viewable. Is this problem caused by the passive cooling on the chip that overheats? The games itself doesn't require high-end cards. And even if I set it to 640 x 480, it still remain the same. When running 3dmark, the pc also rebooted by itself midway through. It always happened at the same spot. Does it has to do with the card as well? I'm not interested in how to mesure the temperature, but rather is it even normal for a card to have such a problem from time to time? I've already installed the latest catalyst and Dx8. I still have 2 months of warrenty, so please give me some advices...thank you. Spec..... WIN2K w SP4 P3 500e 256 PC100 Asus TUA266 ATI R7500 DY

Reply: (edit)time to get a new graphic card, that will help alot, also maybe a cpu and mobo, but i'm just saying the games thats coming out is not meant for low graphic cards. so check out some reviews and maybe buy another one.

Reply: (edit)I'll take your advice into consideration. But I'm more concern with whether the card is dammaged or not. If ever it really has a problem, what strong statement do I have to back up my repair or exchange? And what really does the lines and triangles means? DY

Reply: (edit)I have to agree with richard that the entire rig is likely ok for 2 year old games. But, to answer your question, I'd just get on the phone or request a RMA for the card and give the manufacturer a chance. MSI sent me an RMA for a motherboard in a matter of minutes and Aspire took care of a case problem for a friend overnight. These cards don't run especially hot but I use the two 40mm fans on my Chill Vent to wash cool air over both sides of my Radeon 7200. Don't feel bad. A lot of us are finding games for sale that require a 8500 as a minimum requirement to even start the game. Skip
