Comment: I have an old ati radeon 7500 card on my PC. When I hooked up my bland-new LCD monitor, bios screen became so distorted. However when windows loads, everything seems good. I have no idea why only the bios menu(I mean before windows loads) cannot be displayed well.

Reply: (edit)I'm guessing but your computer is a little older... like about the same age as the card? It sounds like your computer is a little outdated and doesn't quite know how to handle the LCD. Go to your manufacturer's website and see if they list an updated BIOS for this problem. Word of warning however... most updates can be recovered if something goes wrong. With a BIOS update on the other hand, if things go south you could wreck your machine.

Reply: (edit)No, my pc is not that old. It's got athlon 3000. I bought my pc a year ago. The thing I don't understand is when windows gets loading, everything goes fine, but not before.

Reply: (edit)The drivers for the ati card are loaded AFTER windows starts...not before. Until XP boots up your machine relies on a very basic vga driver system that delivers the minimum. As I said, your machine propably does not know how to handle the new monitor.... look for an updtae.
