Comment:

i just bought this card today, right after i was searching for endless hours on a 56k modem downloading tons of drivers and things for "chipsets" and direct x updates to play command and conquer: genrals. my card supports 32x graphix accellaration, my original card that is, but even after going through all the support sites and downloading half the ineternet generals still didnt work. so, i decided to just get a resonably priced new card, with a lil more kick. i went out of my way to make sure it was compatible with amd athalons, and that it would also work with Generals (its a picky son of a bitch). well, to put it in short, more hours and money have been wasted, as i've gone through tons of help sites, re-installs, downloads, drivers, and everything under the sun to make this work (again), and the only progress i have made, is that now the new video card works when not playing games, and instead of generals crashing upon open, it closes and says that my direct x isnt up to date or my card isnt powerful enough. the card is 2 times more than wat i need to play the game, and i installed direct x 9 (a few times). the thing that is wierd, is it says direct x isnt installed no matter how many times i uninstall and reinstall it, and i think there might be sum issues with the chipset still or an adapter pretaining to the new video card (the radeon). sumone please tell me they know wats going on.

what mobo/chipset do you have? are you using the latest Catalyst drivers? have you tried re-installing the game?

I had a problem with a game telling me my directx version was not 8.1 or newer even though I was using ver. 9. I had to download and install a patch for the game and it finally worked. The patch was a pain to find.
