Subject: quick question about turning pc offOS: windows xpCPU/Ram: 3ghz P4/1024mbManufacturer/Model: self built |
Comment: I've been wondering for a while which one of these methods is better and why. 1. shut down a non-responsive pc by unplugging it at the wall or 2. by pressing and holding the power switch for a number of seconds. I have always been told to avoid doing the first one if I can, but I don't know if that's the right answer. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Number 2 is the best. Unplugging from the wall IMO could cause a jolt to the motherboard. Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Reply: (edit)Yeah number 1 should be your very last option if number 2 doesn't work. Don't ever try number 1 unless there is no way of turning off your pc. AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ OC 2.7ghz 2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200 Nvidia 7900GT SATA II 2x 300gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0 Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI
