Recently I brought a new printer a Canon i450, and I also brought from a hardware store a Usb cable to connect it to the computer.
Worked great but the cable wasn't long enough (3 meters) to reach where I wanted to put the printer so I took it back and got a 5 meter cable)
Now the printer prints fine but always before the printer starts I get a message saying..
"Cannot communitcate with printer Turn Enable bidirectional support on in the printers Properties dialog box"
I checked all the printers properties and cannot find no such function.
I have a suspision that the first cable was a USB 2.0 Cable, but the new one is a USB 1.1 Cable.
Whats the difference between a 1.1 and 2.0 USB cable, If my hunch is correct does the usb 2.0 have 2 way communication between device and computer or something..
Thanks for any feedback

The biggest difference between USB1.1 and USB2.0 cables is that in the latter the pairs are shielded.

Yes, I agree...USB 2.0 communicates at a much higher speed than USB 1.1 and because of this, it needs the extra shielding.
