ok, quick question.. i have two sticks of ram.. one kingmax and one samsung.. both pc2700. i looked at both the ram chips in aida32, and all of the values for it are identical. therefore, do you think it would be ok to put them in dual chanel mode? thanks. if not, what are the factors that would make it undoable?

The ram needs to be fairly evenly matched. The only way to really find out is to try it. I have two sticks of crucial 3200 which are far from matched and they run in dual channel.

But that having been said, there is no point running dual channel with an athon anyway, so I wouldnt lose sleep over it. You can search these forums for more info on why its a waste of time.
