hi, i know this might sound stupid, but i just want to make sure. i was just wondering when a video card says it's AGP4x/8x. So, does that mean it'll be fine to use on a MB that only support AGP 4x. And plus i was wondering if anyone can suggest me a card that's out there that have a good price, but not overkill on the performance(geforcefx if possiable). Thanks guys.

geforce2 mx 64mb

Yes, you will be fine. There aren't a lot of 8X cards out there yet.
I suggest the Radeon 8500LE. 3D accelerator, 64 MEG DDR RAM. Great card. My son runs all his games from Splinter Cell to Half Life to Mech Warrior Mercenaries (the latest one) without a glitch or dropped frame. Clocks base at 250, but everybody overclocks the card to 275 - 300. Great card, great price.
$65 at Newegg.com, + shipping ($6or$7 I think). Be sure to read the comments by users, I have found the same experience.

hey what about the other cards like ati radeon 9200 pro 128mb? or maybe the 9000pro?
i dunno but i think these are better... anyone else think so?
Besides u could go on ebay and search for one :D

In most tests, the 8500 outperforms the 9000 series by quite a margin. Maybe these video comparisons will help with your decision...the 2nd chart not only tests the videocards, but shows how they differ in performance in an Athlon 1000 system vs an XP2700+ system:

also try this:

ahhh so the 8500 128mb/8500LE 64 mb are definately better cards than the 9000/9000pro.
Sigh i couldn't find a 8500LE card on ebay..hey has anyone got any test results for the 9200pro?
thx.
