Is PC 4300 RAM (DDR 533) subject to the usual theory that any higher speed RAM will also work as long as it is the right type (in this case, DDR2)?
Finding actual PC 4300 RAM is next to impossible (NewEgg only has pairs of 256 and 512), but higher types of DDR 667 is pretty easy.
I do overclock this system, so it is prone to any issues the RAM may have with OCing.

PC2-4200 is also called DDR2-533. I don't know if different manufacturer's rate it differently or what? The theoretical RAM bandwidth at 266MHz (actually 266.66MHz) would be 4266.66MB/s, so I'm guessing that one manufacturer might round up & call it, PC2-4300 & another might round down & call it PC2-4200? There are plenty of choices in PC2-4200 RAM.
It would help if you listed your system specs.

It is a good idea to check the MBoard website for RAM compatibility.
