I have an HP deskjet610CL and I want to beable to print with just the black cartridge in. I only have the Black cartridge, and only need to print text. How do I trick the printer(or change settings)to make the printer print with just the black cartridge. If you have aim, Im dino1487 or e-mail kmailliw@bellsouth.net, or reply to this message

What happens when you just put the Black cartride in? My lexmark just auto detects it.

I put the cartridge in, try to print, and the resume light blinks. I tried pressing the resume button, no luck

Did this just happen when you inserted the black cartridge? Does it print with a color cartridge? Is the lid closed? Is the paper properly inserted in the tray?
