question about hard drive setup

Microsoft Windows server 2003

Specs: windows server 2003
We are running a reporting server on windows 2003 server standard edition version 5.2 service pack 2.

I'll let you know now I have no idea what I am doing. the C drive has a capacity of 15GB and is full but I dont see where all of the space is being used. I see about 10 GB maybe, I am going to try to defrag the drive to help a little.
When I look in the Computer Management screen under disk management, we have a C: drive (system) and F: drive with 5 GB and an E: drive with 46.77 GB of allocated space. These are all on Disk 0 - basic according to Disk Management. The E: drive says it has only 3.14 GB space left out of 46.77 GB but when I look in explorer, I only see about 700MB being used, where is all of that space being used at? Can I allocate some of that to the system (C:) drive?

There is also Disk 1 - basic, which is the D: drive and it has a total of 557 GB of space total with 341 GB free space.

Since the C, E and F are all on Disk 0, can i allocate that anyway I want? is that how it works? I have no idea what I am doing here, its all new to me.

even if you could determine that the other partitions have space that can be reallocated to the c drive, repartitioning a drive with an operating system on it is not risk free, even for someone who has an idea of what they are doing.
If you are going to do it you better back up important files. If losing you operating system would be a disaster, I would say don't do it. How about an external drive if you need more space.

Well there's plenty of space on the D: drive, I was just trying to figure if I could move a little of the space on E: over but I wasn't sure where all of the space was being used on E: since it hardly shows anything being used! it sure doesn't show in explorer, are they hidden files or something? something that windows server does? I found some Apache log files I zipped up that loosened up some space, but I was just trying to figure out how to get a little more room on drive C:

Thanks, I'm looking into installing those tools onto the server. Just want to make sure it's safe. Hopefully that will show what I need. I would still need to know if there is a simple way to actually move space over from E: to C: if anyone knows.

You could try a partitioning program like EASEUS. Check out the following website:

This is a good program, but I would still follow larry's advice about being careful if you are going to rearrange the partitions on your server's hard drive!
