I don't think there's a sobertooth on this forum so I'll take a stab at this. For one, this is more of a software (XP) issue than it is hardware related.
And for your CPU, I'd assume you meant an Athlon 1.2GHz (Thunderbird) Tbird. Anyhow, as far as the ntknosk-dll.drv error, I'll have to ask you to post the error message verbatim. For what it's worth, this could be about Ntoskrnl.exe or Ntoskrnl.dll missing.
