Query: DVI vs HDMI

My graphics card has ports for HDMI on the back, as does my Dell S2409 monitor. Currently, they're connected with DVI cables and I'm just wondering whether connecting with HDMI would make any difference to games or movies, at all. Thanks.

DVI (Digital Video Interface) is for digital video signals only. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) can be used for digital video as well as digital audio. AFAIK, the digital video signal is the same regardless of the type of cable used, so there should no difference in video display quality between the two.

there is no difference.. hdmi carries sound as well . .so maybe your monitor has some crappy lil speakers in it if not it would just be ignoring the audio in the hdmi, so using dvi gives u same video results.
