Do the coreduo quads use the fsb for communicating. And if so is there any real benfit of using a coreduo vs quad when intel increassed the fsb

You would have to run a baseline Performance monitor test to see if it would help you.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
