Not sure if this is the right forum, but I'll give it a shot.
I knew someone who put a movie on a CD, not a DVD, and the movie played on a DVD player. I was curious how to do that, like what format it would have to be in to play on the DVD player.
I was just messing around and tried to burn the movie as a data file, but it did not work on the DVD player, but when I put it back into my computer, it would open the movie on Windows Media Player.
Anyway, my bad if this is in the wrong forum, but I am just puzzled about how one would go about doing that.

Yep could of posted in the Digital Photo/Video Forum but now you are here.
The Standalone DVD Player must support the format, not all are equal.
Usually CD Movies are VCD or SVCD Format, which the majority of Standalone DVD Players will play if recorded onto CD-R Media, CD-RW media is not recommended.
NERO6/7/8 has the facility to burn these formats.

Some dvd players will play DIVX avi files.
